GRANNUS BIOSCIENCES LTD. ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT
FOR PRECLINICAL AND CLINICAL STAGE MOLECULES

October 19, 2005 —- Grannus BioSciences Ltd, a privately held biotechnology company developing anti-inflammatory products, announced today two separate agreements with Strathclyde University the first involving a clinical stage compound for use in certain dermatologic and cancer applications. Under a second and separate agreement, Grannus will have an option to as many as six small molecules for development as potential anti-inflammatory pharmaceuticals. The company will collaborate with the Strathclyde Institute for Drug Research (SIDR) which discovered the compounds. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Dr. Elizabeth McLaughlin Taylor, Chief Operating Officer of the Company, said: “We are pleased to have reached the agreements with Strathclyde University which effectively expand Grannus’ pipeline of anti-inflammatory products with the molecules from SIDR’s extensive plant derived library. We are also excited at the prospect of moving the clinical stage product into Phase II testing next year. These compounds complement nicely the Company’s current technology portfolio based on thymosin beta 4 sulfoxide, for which Grannus holds a worldwide exclusive license from Glasgow University.”

Grannus BioSciences, formed in 2004, is developing products for application to dermatologic, respiratory and other inflammatory disorders. The Company’s lead biologic, thymosin beta 4 sulfoxide, is an anti-inflammatory biologic for which Grannus plans to initiate clinical testing in dermatologic disease.
